The University rocks the Campus Festival

A campus turned party zone: On 25 June 2015, 19,500 young people enjoy open air music on the grassy area between the main university building and Building X. Since then, it has been impossible to imagine a summer semester without the Bielefeld Campus-Festival. At the end of every June, German musicians take over the University grounds.

After the first event it was clear: The Campus Festival is a recipe for success. The cooperation between the Bielefeld agency Vibra, the University, the University of Applied Sciences and Bielefeld Marketing soon made a name for itself. The line-up for the first ever festival was impressive: Alligatoah, AnnenMayKantereit, Gentleman und Thees Uhlmann were the stars of the festival. After the concerts finished, dancing and celebrating continued until the early hours on the two DJ floors in the university canteen.

On the grassy area between the main university building and Building X there are other small venues in addition to the main stage. Local artists perform on the Hertz 87.9 stage, a singer-songwriting competition takes place on the Slam stage, and there is wild dancing on the “Elektro-Floor”. A very special guest to take to the stage of the third Campus Festival 2017 is the German American rapper Casper, who studied at the University and was born in Lippe.
